Alive & Kickin'

This is a popular initiative to encourage men and woman Over 50 years, to remain active as they become older. The programme is designed for the local community to participate in varying activities, of varying levels of impact as they travel through the elderly stages of life.

We have 3 main aims, in which we hope to achieve:

• More older people having a purpose/focus in life and feeling positive about the activities in their neighbourhood.

• More older people having a better understanding and tolerance of today’s generation and vice versa and more new friendships and social links are created in the area.

• More older people being able to influence activities in their area themselves.

Walking Football

Football at a Manageable Pace

Is designed to help people keep an active lifestyle, as well as getting individuals back playing football who had to stop due to injuries.

As the name suggests, Walking Football is non-contact and anyone that sprints, runs or jogs while the ball is in play will be penalised with a free-kick awarded to the other team, other than that the game has the same rules as ‘normal’ football.

Join us every Tuesday from 10.30 to 12pm, for some light hearted fun. The session lasts for one hour, followed by a well-earned cup of tea or coffee. Cost is £3

Sporting Memories

What's your favourite sporting memory? The one moment that makes the hairs on your neck stand on end when you think back on it?

Maybe it was meeting your idol and discovering that they were everything you hoped they would be. Perhaps it was a special goal that you can still see when you close your eyes. Maybe it was something more personal. Sometimes it's not about what you are watching, but who you are watching it with.

Maybe the goal you most remember is one you scored yourself.

If you would like to SHARE YOUR STORY then join us every Wednesday at the Albyn Park from 10.30am-12 noon to chat about the ‘good old days in sport’. A small donation to cover tea/coffee and biscuits appreciated.
