Pedal for Scotland and Raise Funds for BUSC

We are calling on all friends and supporters of Broxburn United Sports Club to take part in this years Pedal for Scotland Event, to raise money for Broxburn United Sports Club.

As we strive to fund some new and exciting BUSC community initiatives, we require to keep the much needed funds coming in.  YOU can play your part by cycling from Glasgow to Edinburgh (55 wee miles) on Sunday 11th September 2016.

About the Race

The Classic Pedal for Scotland ride, the Challenge is now in its 18th year. The 55mile Glasgow to Edinburgh ride is the event’s most popular ride and attracted over 7,500 participants last year.

The ride’s huge popularity is due to the combination of a great route that uses a mixture of closed roads, quiet back roads and cycle paths and the fact that it takes in Scotland’s two largest cities via stunning countryside. It’s the perfect challenge for both regular riders and those who haven’t cycled in a while – a few weeks training is enough to get in shape.

There are rest stops around every ten miles serving free refreshments, plus a free lunch at the beautiful Linlithgow Palace, topped off with entertainment and activities in Edinburgh, making for the perfect active day out for groups of friends, family or work mates or team mates.

If you feel The Classis is just too long, then sign up for The Wee Jaunt which provides a fantastic (and almost entirely traffic-free) route starting from Kirkliston Leisure Centre and ending with the experience of crossing the finish line at Murrayfield Stadium with the rest of the Pedal for Scotland Classic Challenge and Big Belter® riders.

So………….

….Why not sign up to take part.  After registering your interest, we will supply you with a sponsor pack, including a t-shirt to wear on the event day, then its over to YOU!  The more money you raise, the greater the help you will be giving BUSC.

Remember if you cant take part then please ensure you sponsor someone who is!

Last Year

We sincerely appreciated  four BUSC participants, and managed to raise close to £1000, which has contributed to running of our Fun Start Fitness Programme within the local Primary Schools.  Two of the Broxburn Colts Teams, have also benefited, with parents of the players participating in the event.  The teams can again gain substantial income if friends or family members take part in this years event.
