Our Commitment to Wellbeing
At Broxburn United Sports Club (BUSC), we believe that everyone deserves to enjoy their sport in an environment where they feel safe, respected, and supported.
Looking after everyone within our club is our highest and non-negotiable priority. We are dedicated to creating a positive culture where everyone feels heard and valued.
How We Ensure Your Safety and Wellbeing
We don't just create rules; we actively listen and learn to make sure our club is a safe space for you.
We listen to our members: We believe safeguarding is something we do with our members, not to them. We actively listen to our children and young people, as they are the experts on their own experience at the club.
We check our impact: We use a process (called a Children's Rights and Wellbeing Impact Assessment) to make sure our policies are actually working in the real world. We ask our young members if they feel Safe, Respected, Included, and Empowered.
Our policies are robust: Our approach is based on national guidance, including the National Guidance for Child Protection in Scotland, 'Getting it Right for Every Child' (GIRFEC), and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
