Our Sporting Memories participants welcomed authors from our capital rivals Heart of Midlothian FC and Hibernian FC.
Hearts author Steve Weddell started out covering soccer for the Pink News and the Scotsman before working with Greenpeace. He then became a zookeeper at Edinburgh Zoo and went on to do back-to-back degrees in Zoology and Vet Science at Liverpool. He is the author of Dances with Sheep, as well as Hearts books A Tale of Two Seasons and Hearts on this day.
Ian Colquhoun is a Hibernian FC author, actor, stuntman and Historian. Ian lost his legs and was almost killed in an unprovoked assault and arson attack whilst living in the Republic of Ireland in 2002 and now wears prosthetic legs. He gives lectures to physiotherapy students at an Edinburgh University about his condition. Ian has written many Hibernian FC books.
We would like to extend our thanks to both highly talented men, who took their time to speak to us.
The next Sporting Memories meeting is Tuesday 9th May 12pm until 1.30pm. Join in and chat about sport in the past.
