Pumpherston & Uphall Primary School have been engaging with our Fun Start Fitness programme for the last five weeks, and their Primary 3 class is certainly feeling the effects!

Our coach James has been attending the school to deliver key health messages to the P3 pupils. The learning is taken on board by the kids and utilised in a game format within a physical activity setting.

James has been focusing on one health message per week and there is always a key point to be made within those messages.

Week 1 - Positive mental well-being. We should encourage our friends and those around them to pursue their dreams and ambitions.

Week 2 - Importance of drinking water. Pupils should be drinking at least 2 litres of water per day.

Week 3 - Food and nutrition is important, with a particular focus on breakfast being the most important meal of the day.

Week 4 - There should be a minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity for pupils per day.

Week 5 - Oral hygiene is incredibly important, and we should brush our teeth twice a day (Before school and before we go to bed).

The Pumpherston & Uphall pupils have really enjoyed James' sessions and we would like to commend James on his work. If you and your child would like to engage in these tips, then feel free to do so!
