Another Opportunity for Walking Football

Due to the demand in Walking Football we have introduced a new day for Over 50's to get their boots on and join the latest craze!

Each Monday from 8.30-9.30pm, starting on Monday 5th February, come along and play a game of Walking Football.

Walking Football is designed to help people keep an active lifestyle, as well as getting individuals back playing football who had to stop due to injuries.  As the name suggests, its a non-contact sport and anyone who sprints, runs or jogs is penalised with a free kick being awarded to the other team.  Other than that, the game has the same rules as 'normal' football.

Cost is £3 per session.  Please turn up, pay and play!

2018 Kicks Off with Fun Start Fitness at Pumpherston Primary

FSF Smiley Face Image.jpg

BUSC delivered our first FUN START FITNESS class of 2018 at Pumpherston & Uphall Station Primary School. 24 Primary 3 children all took part in a fun environment while also learning about positive mental health.

James went along to meet the class and their teacher, and delivered a small presentation about happiness and how we can make other people feel good about themselves.

The key messages are around friendship, caring, sharing, fairness, equality and love which are most important while building positive relationships. The class were introduced to physical activity while learning how to encourage each person to help build great relationships.

The feedback from the class was that James can come back next week because they had great fun, played team games and enjoyed being happy. Each child was rewarded with a BUSC smiley face.

Arrivederci, Liam Henderson

Liam Henderson.jpg

While it is sad to see another young Scottish player leave the Scottish game, we send our best wishes to Liam Henderson at his new club Bari. Bari are currently sitting fourth in Italy's Serie B and are fighting for promotion up to Serie A. Liam was a product of our member club Broxburn Athletic Colts before moving on to Heart of Midlothian F.C. and then Celtic F.C.

Liam has achieved many accolades in his career so far. He came off the bench for Celtic's 2015 Scottish League Cup final winning team before joining Norwegian side Rosenborg BK on loan a few months later. Rosenborg won a league and cup double and Liam is the proud owner of both domestic medals.

Liam returned home to Scotland and joined Hibernian F.C. on loan. It was Liam's two corner kicks in the 2016 Scottish Cup final that ended Hibs' long wait for a Scottish Cup victory, writing Liam into Hibs folklore in the process.

Liam can also consider himself a member of Celtic's 'Invincibles' side during the 2016-17 season, with a league winner's medal in his possession.

Liam often visits Albyn Park to watch our local teams play and is a big follower of BUSC. Liam has supported the club at functions and has donated boots to help raise funds with our BUSC Bootbox. Everyone at Albyn Park sends their best wishes and hope Liam has a prosperous career at his new club. We will be looking out for Bari's results each week.
